Introducing Pure Noor: The Heart Behind My Houston Newborn Photography REBRAND

I have some exciting news to share—Rachel Faye Photo has officially become Pure Noor.

This rebrand has been on my mind for quite some time, and after much reflection, I knew it was time to take the plunge. While changing a business name is no simple task, this new identity feels like the one my business was always meant to have.

To explain the heart behind the name, it's best to start with something simple: photography cannot exist without light.

Every photograph is created because of light. It shapes every photo, exudes every emotion, and brings every fleeting moment to life. In much the same way, my own life is only possible because of the Light of the world—Jesus Christ.

As a Christian, my faith is the foundation of everything I do. Long before I ever picked up a camera, God placed a desire in my heart to serve others and to reflect His love through my work. One verse has continually guided me:

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."Matthew 5:16

That verse has become the heartbeat of both my life and my business. My hope is that every family I serve experiences kindness, joy, and genuine care—not because of me, but because those things ultimately point back to God.

The word Noor means "light" in Arabic.

My husband, whom I've been with since I was 21 years old, is from Egypt and speaks Arabic. When we were expecting our daughter, I absolutely loved the idea of naming her Noor. I thought it was such a beautiful reminder of our desire to raise a little girl who would shine God's light wherever she went.

My husband, however, wasn't quite as convinced. While he loved the meaning behind the name, he simply wasn’t fond of the name for our daughter.

So, after vetoing the name for our daughter, I suppose it's only fair that—two and a half years later—I finally got to use it anyway... just for my business instead. (Sorry, not sorry :P)

This isn't actually my first photography business. During college, I owned a business called Times Like These Photography, a name I always loved because it reflected preserving meaningful moments rather than highlighting myself.

I've never been particularly comfortable with naming a business after myself. For me personally, it never felt like the right fit. But when I decided to relaunch my photography business in January 2025, I simply couldn't settle on a name that felt meaningful. Out of necessity, Rachel Faye Photo was born.

Over the past year, however, I've gained much more clarity about the kind of photographer I want to be and the families I feel called to serve. Although rebranding comes with plenty of work behind the scenes, I knew it was worth making this change now rather than years down the road.

Today, my business is completely centered around in-home newborn photography and family photography in Houston.

There is something incredibly special about photographing families in the place where their memories are actually being made. Babies are rocked in the nursery you've thoughtfully prepared. Toddlers climb onto the couch for cuddles. Parents sway in the kitchen with a sleepy newborn in their arms. These aren't staged moments—they're your real life, unfolding inside the walls of your home.

Every time I walk through a family's front door, I feel like I've been entrusted with something sacred. Truly.

I get to witness exhausted but joyful parents staring in amazement at the tiny life they've created. I get to watch older siblings squeal with excitement as they kiss a brand-new baby. I get to capture tiny fingers wrapped around a mother's hand and the quiet tenderness in a father's eyes.

There is so much love inside these homes.

So much grace.

So much joy.

There is simply so much light.

The light reflected in a mother's smile as she gazes at her baby is unlike anything else. The laughter of toddlers, the gentle embrace of parents, and the quiet moments between family members all radiate a kind of beauty that cannot be manufactured. It's genuine, honest, and deeply moving.

Being invited into these moments is one of the greatest privileges of my life. I never take that trust for granted.

The word Pure represents something equally meaningful.

It reminds me of the purity of childhood—the innocence of a newborn, the wholehearted trust children place in their parents, their wonder, curiosity, and ability to love so freely. Children see the world with fresh eyes, and there is something incredibly beautiful about preserving that season before it slips quietly into memory.

When I put these two words together—Pure and Noor—everything finally clicked.

Pure Noor represents pure light.

It represents the beauty God has woven into family, motherhood, childhood, and home.

It represents the authentic, joyous moments I hope to preserve for every family who welcomes me through their front door.

Thank you to every family who has trusted me to document your story. Your encouragement, support, and friendship have made this new chapter possible, and I truly cannot wait to continue serving families throughout Houston under a name that reflects both my faith and my purpose.

Welcome to Pure Noor. I believe this is exactly where I was always meant to be.
